Welcome to historic La Grange. This is the first and only opportunity in a century to own this 150 acre preserve, steeped in so much history. The charming, antique 2 story brick home has 4 large rooms, original pine floors, ten foot ceilings and large porch overlooking the majestic views of the Paris Valley. The home was built by Peter Glascock, the architect of Punkinâville, Virginia in the 18th century. Glascock was a sea captain who settled in Virginia after serving alongside the Marquis de Lafayette in the Revolutionary War. Lafayette visited Glascock at this house after the war. After his visit, the village of Punkinâville was renamed Paris and the house bestowed the name âLa Grangeâ, after Lafayetteâs Chateau de la Grange outside of Paris, France.
